Long time Microgaming partner, Just For The Win, have a mixed bag of games in their back catalog. Whilst we get on with Goldwyn’s Fairies and Deco Diamonds, games like Rainbrew and Side Winder just seemed plain weird to us! Aurora Beast Hunter is another slot that will probably split opinion, partly because of the off-kilter reel set the game plays out on, but also because of the retro-sci fi alien theme, it’s using. There’s a lot of the old-school video game about this one, which looks to our eyes pretty cool, but we’re not sure everyone will get it. What most will like though is the ton of features that come into play throughout the base game and bonus round, including wilds that expand and stick, and a choice of volatility for your free spins where wins of up to 5,000x are possible.

GAMEPLAY AND FEATURES

Aurora is all about the free spins and the wilds.

The wilds themselves perform the basic function of subbing for other symbols to form paylines, but they also come in stacks or sticky, or both stacked and sticky! During the game there are also additional features that can be applied at random after a spin: random cash prizes, random wilds added to the reels, and sticky wild stacks with re-spins. The latter is particularly good as it gives a free spin with one row showing fully wild.

The free spins round is triggered by landing three or more truck scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5. There are three formats of the bonus round to choose from, each with its own variance setting and reel enhancements:

1. Sandstorm Free Spins – 12 spins at low variance with a top payout of 2,000x. Stacked wilds are in play throughout.
